It's no secret that Leonie Hanne loves her colour. Scroll through her Instagram feed and you will be greeted with a spectrum of vibrant hues and pastel shades that come together to create all of her stunning, always on-trend outfits.

From monochrome ensembles to contrasting shades, here's how you can play with colour to inspire your next outfit.

Brights and Pastels

The bright and pastel colour combination makes for a sweet yet edgy and almost-graphic look.

Leonie pairs a neon pink blazer with a pastel coral top and neutral beige trousers. She accessorised with Bottega Veneta's Mini Jodie bag in a light coral shade to tie the whole look together.

While in Paris for fashion week, she wore another bright and pastel combination, teaming a pastel mint coat with glittery knee-high boots from Paris Texas and a bright pastel lime green Hermès' Mini Kelly bag. The touch of sparkle made the outfit pop while the pastel tones kept it chic and classic.

In another look, Leonie mixes pastel, cotton candy pink in the form of an oversized blazer dress with zesty, lime green knee-high boots and a Fuschia pink Jacquemus mini bag. This look had an almost modern meets '60s vibe to it as she accessorised with graphic, clear pink framed, square lens sunglasses.

Contrasting Shades

Contrasting shades create fun mixes that can create bold or sugary sweet looks. In a look that screamed summer barbie glam, Leonie paired a bright sky blue satin midi skirt with a shocking pink, fuzzy, open cardigan top while posing for the 'gram in Palazzo Avino, Ravello, Italy. The Pink and Turquoise combo featured again in a swimwear outfit while in Positano, where she paired a bright, neon barbie pink one-piece swimsuit with a pastel turquoise oversized shirt.

Leonie has also paired vibrant, contrasting shades with darker tones, creating ultra-chic, luxe yet fun outfits. The brighter shades give a burst of personality to the chicness of the darker colours. She paired a chocolate brown, dress and vinyl coat ensemble with Bottega Veneta's mini Jodie bag in a complementary bright teal. Chocolate brown featured as a base once again in another contrast-colour outfit that she wore while attending the Philosophy show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The deeper brown shade was paired with tan, over-the-knee boots and bold, vibrant green hues that included Bottega Veneta's Padded Jodie bag Bottega Green.

Pick 3 colours

Picking 3 colours that complement each other is a great way to create fresh, exciting looks that are cool yet composed. It also provides a great opportunity to experiment with more than just two shades.

For an ultra edgy and chic look, Leonie paired high waisted black trousers with a white oversized blazer and bright green accessories in the form of a shoulder bag and block heels. Black and white provide an excellent base for bold colours to shine and the touch of green really brought the whole look together.

In a dusty hued ensemble, she teamed a pair of light khaki trousers with a dusky chocolate brown top and a pastel mint coat. A silver necklace added a little bling and a green Prada shoulder bag provided girlish charm to the sporty-chic outfit.

Another tricolour look featured purple pants, a light tan coat, neon green pointed heels with a matching mini bag and sunglasses. The purple-neon combination gave off '80s retro vibes while the classic tan coat kept the look chic and modern.

Go with shades

Pick a colour and wear different shades of it to create a multidimensional monochrome look. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with the same colour in varying shades.

In a blue-toned look, Leonie pairs an icy, glacial blue blazer with turquoise hot pants and a baby blue Bottega Veneta Casette Bag and matching Bottega Veneta Sandals. The white top breaks the monotony of the look that still has a chic, monochrome feel to it.

Shades of green are featured in another one-shade look. She teamed a long olive green coat with a pastel sage turtleneck knit. She accessorised with bright green block heels and a green Hermès Kelly Mini bag. The fresh green shades felt like a perfect spring palette and once again, the single colour shades were broken up by a pair of cream shorts that held the whole look together.
