Get Ready for Summer with Dior's Vivaciously Nostalgic Chez Moi Capsule
Venice beach meets contemporary chic, the newest additions to Dior's Chez Moi range splashes the early '00s onto trendy, breezy loungewear.
The Y2k Hibiscus
Think Olsen twins circa the late '90s and early '00s. Iconic to the fashion of the era, the girlish yet graphic, tropical floral hibiscus motif presents itself on the Lady D-Lite Bag and the D-Flower Pop Square Scarf in Silk Twill.
The Y2k aesthetic is further enhanced in these offerings through the clever use of clashing, contrasting hues and prints, displaying florals dressed in shades of cobalt, sky blue and periwinkle sprawled against a feverish backdrop of bright pinks laced with a graphic, black and white chevron pattern for a graphic, retro-contemporary twist. These are perfect for channelling your inner California surfer girl with a touch of Parisian-chic.
Cheetah
Though popularized in the '80s, Cheetah prints made a comeback in the early '00s, particularly in the 2003 Disney Channel original film 'Cheetah Girls' where the characters were often seen sporting this funky print in bold, statement colours.
Featuring a slightly darker aesthetic than the rest of the range, a fun, yet effortlessly elegant shirt and shorts set is seen dressed in classic, black cheetah spots. Scattered against a vibrant medley of ocean-sunset-esque tangerine orange and Fuschia, the warmer notes contrast perfectly with the cooler tone of azure creating a unique blend of shades that create texture, interest and movement on the textile.
In the Pink of Summer
A hot trending shade this season, the capsule presents a darling, bright pink, bubblegum-hued sweater. The masion's favourite star motif lends an added touch of Y2k to the sugary hue that is reminiscent of the era, while sporty black stripes lend a trendy, athleisure feel. Emblazoned with the "Christian Dior" Signature, this adorable knit boasts a luxe blend of cashmere and wool and summer-perfect, slightly puffed, short sleeves. The pink and black combination also hints at the pop-punk trends of the era; think Avril Lavigne in circa 2007.
Another pink-hued offering comes in the form of the refreshingly cute Dior-ID Sneaker in Raspberry Gradient and Reflective Technical Fabric. This chunky sneaker feels modern yet vintage at the same time, winking at the pop inspiration of the collection. The "Christian Dior" signature is wrapped around the back while contrast stitching and a textured rubber panel conceal the laces. The thick soles and candy tones give off some serious contemporary meets Bratz Doll vibes, perfect for adding a touch of '00s nostalgia to any look.
