Fendi Celebrates A Century of Chic with its Spring/Summer 2025 Show
At Milan Fashion Week, Kim Jones presented a timeless women's collection that honoured 100 years of the Maison founded in Rome by Adele Fendi.
At its core, the Fendi Spring/Summer 2025 show offers a mesmerising reflection on the interplay between fashion and time. This season, the Roman Maison celebrates its 100th anniversary, marking a century-long legacy that began in 1925. That pivotal year also witnessed the Paris Expo and the iconic creation of the Eiffel Tower, while literary giants like Virginia Woolf and F. Scott Fitzgerald graced the world with Mrs. Dalloway and The Great Gatsby. Drawing inspiration from the bold elegance of the 1920s—an era defined by the allure of Art Deco—Fendi reimagines its wardrobe to honor a hundred years of history with an eye toward the future.
The show unfolds in a minimalist setting, where a striking cube-structured installation anchors the space. A sense of history reverberates through the air as the haunting soundtrack by Max Richter sets the tone, underscored by the evocative voices of Anna Fendi and Silvia Venturini Fendi. They pay tribute to their mother and the brand’s founder, Adele Casagrande, painting an intimate portrait of her legacy.
Each look in the collection dazzles with its refined elegance, balancing sophistication, minimalism, and the unmistakable quality synonymous with Fendi’s LVMH backing. Kim Jones presents a masterful blend of restrained grandeur, 1920s-inspired Art Deco motifs, ethereal see-through dresses, provocative transparencies, intricate embroidery, and precision tailoring. The guest list sparkled just as brightly, with appearances from Shailene Woodley, Heart Evangelista, and Song Hye-kyo.
The grand finale left the audience in awe as the cube installation dramatically opened, unveiling the full breadth of the collection. It was a fittingly spectacular conclusion to a show that not only celebrated a century of Fendi’s artistry but also set a bold course for the brand’s future.
