It made a quiet debut in miniature – in plain leather with scalloped edges – in Fendi’s Resort 2017 collection. But this season, it was almost as if someone said, “Kan I go crazy? Hell yeah!”
This new Fendi icon, a flap bag with bellow sides, was sent down the runway in all iterations of detailing and colourways. There were safe classics, very wearable as workbags. There were flashy metallic versions with 3D flowers, appliqué motifs and studs galore. And there was everything in between. Two stacked square Rainbow Studs form the clasp, and wearers can further dress up or down the bag with Fendi’s bag straps (the short Mini Strap You turns it into a top-handle bag). Two little rings form the attachment points for bag charms like the ABClick and Fendi Fruits.
