Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent collection for Spring/Summer 2022 paid tribute to French-Spanish fashion designer and icon, Paloma Picasso. This is not the first time she served as a source of inspiration for the brand; back in 1971, Paloma Picasso was the preliminary muse for Yves Saint Laurent’s Scandal Collection. The collection evoked a sense of freedom and liberty that Vaccarellow wished to recreate for his most recent collection.
Bold in its colours, elegant in its designs, and souple in its fabrics, the collection tells the story of a fearless woman. The collection features masculine tailoring with sleek oversized blazers, exaggerated and statement shoulders Floral patterns, pops of vibrant shades of red and green are seen on slick jumpsuits with cheeky cutouts and dresses pulled from the YSL archives of the ‘80s.
