At Dior, A Floral Fantasy For Chinese New Year
Staying true to one of the many iconic house codes set by Christian Dior, Dior's Cruise 2021 collection takes cues from the enchanting world of flora. Incorporating prints designed by Italian contemporary artist Pietro Ruffo, the line-up boasts intricate wild flowers, which are said to be inspired by the 17th-century botanical book, De Florum Cultura. Ruffo's prints – which comprise of five floral illustrations in particular – are fashioned onto maxi dresses, sheer skirts and matching vests and trousers, making for an ethereal-meets-contemporary selection.
Most notably, both the Lady Dior and Dior Book Tote are also imagined in red, blue and yellow floral detailing. In a capsule collection launched exclusively for Chinese New Year, the Maison keeps in line with Ruffo's delicate vision. Paying homage to the "Dior Hibiscus" – otherwise known as the "China rose" – the capsule sees an array of elegant embroidered Hibiscus motifs displayed on a selection of bags, shoes and ready-to-wear pieces.
