Haute Couture 2022: Paris' Best Street Style Looks
Colour blocking and Barbiecore were some of the trends that dominated the streets at Paris Couture Week.
Cutouts, shiny leather, straps, prints and a touch of pink. The Paris Haute Couture Week ended last Thursday and shook the Parisian streets with a street style with a lot of personality and, of course, trends of the season.
The trend that stood out the most was colour blocking; a trend that comes and goes. Another trend that was on the rise in Paris Couture Week was Barbiecore. For those who like pink, this is the time to take a risk without fear. With the buzz surrounding the film starring Margot Robbie, the Barbie-style aesthetic has been conquering fashionistas on social media and on the catwalks.
Giambattista Valli, Rodarte and Chanel adopted pink as the dominant tone in the 2022 collections, joining other trends such as platform heels, chunky jewellery, miniskirts and party dresses.
In Paris, colour blocking and Barbiecore were either incorporated into black fits, with bright pink embellishments, or the opposite, in an all-pink look with details in black tones. All with the air of someone who could have come straight out of a Barbie movie.
The streets were also dominated by other closet-friendly trends: Light cardigans, matching sets, large buttons, baggy jeans with square-cut blazers, and summer dresses, in addition to cottagecore styles.
The final result of the Paris Couture Week street style was streets with a lot of diversity and varied styles, where comfort was the keyword, but never without personality and a lot of fashion.
