Bottega Veneta’s Butterfly Collection Will Set Your Heart Aflutter

The fluttery creatures add a delicate touch to the brand’s signature intrecciato weave

Exclusive to its boutiques in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore (at ION Orchard, from the 28th of April), Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier has designed a new line of bags and small accessorie - the Butterfly Collection, which sees the winged insect taking flight on the brand’s Cabat and Baby Olimpia bags.

First appearing on BV’s leather goods in 1970s, the butterfly symbolises womanhood and eternity in Japanese culture, making it the perfect fit for the Italian house’s feminine and timeless designs. The Mallow Nappa Cabat below, for instance, is laden with fifty eight applique butterflies and demands 3 days of work to craft.

The special butterfly collection will launch exclusively in Singapore at the Bottega Veneta ION Orchard boutique from 28 April.
