Blackpink's Lisa Stuns in a Sustainable Gold Dress at 2024 F1 Monaco Grand Prix
The global superstar proved that sustainability is sexy in a custom ensemble from Thai label, Pipatchara.
Blackpink's Lisa is living fast! Turns out the global superstar and CEO of LLOUD is a fan of the Formula 1 sport and has been spotted at the 2024 F1 Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend. This was also not her first appearance at a Formula 1 event with her first sporting crossover being the 2024 F1 Miami Grand Prix that happened earlier this month. Her unexpected appearance caused quite the buzz among netizens and fans were delighted that the K-pop superstar got to wave the checkered flag for the first time at the finish line.
Over the weekend, Lisa attended the F1 Monaco Grand Prix and showed off both her daytime and evening looks on her social media handles. For daytime events, the idol opted for a white and blue pin-striped collared shirt under a yellow bustier shirt dress by Dsquared. An ideal modern interpretation of the recent regendy-core fashion trend and ideal for hot weather too. However, it is her after-party look that captured the attention of fans and the fashion set all over the world.
The golden look is a custom two-piece, top and skirt ensemble by sustainable Thai label, Pipatchara. Pipatchara as a brand started out as a collaboration between designer Pipatchara and her sister, Jittrinee. Their journey into fashion design began from their love for macramé (a form of textile created by knotting techniques instead of weaving or knitting) and passion for sustainability. They made a splash among fashion lovers with their accessories and handbags that feature their unique macramé elements and later exploring new textile options with their chain-link designs.
Lisa's custom outfit features the label's signature chain-link pattern atop a nude base that gives stunning see-through effect as well accentuating every movement by the wearer. Most interestingly, the chain-link design is created by plastic from recycled waste. Lisa's dress in particular is made out of 80% used water bottle lids and 20% out of used clear take-away containers, repurposed into this stunning garment. It took more than 1800 pieces of waste plastic, mainly consisting of bottle lids to create the two piece look. Proving once again that sustainability is sexy.
