All the Celebrities at Louis Vuitton's 200 Trunks 200 Visionaries Exhibition in Singapore
Take a look at the local celebrities who attended Louis Vuitton's bicentennial celebratory exhibition as we unpack the unique experience.
April 4th launched the first day of Louis Vuitton’s 200 Trunks 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, the first international stop after its debut in Paris, France, with local celebrities among the likes of Rebecca Lim, Kit Chan, Fann Wong, Zoe Tay, Joanne Peh, Jesseca Liu and Desmond Tan in attendance for its grand opening.
Nestled along the waterfront, the steel Damier facade of the travelling presentation is quite hard to miss, conveying the maison’s signature motif and taking up residence right next to the all-glass design of Louis Vuitton’s flagship store, Crystal Pavilion.
The exhibition pays homage to the history of Louis Vuitton and its symbolic trunk as guests make their way through a display of 200 reimagined designs created by 200 friends of the House. A combination of artists, musicians, sportsmen, scientists, and philosophers come together to celebrate Louis Vuitton’s bicentennial birthday, crafting exclusive trunks that embody aspirations, abstract concepts and artistic expressions for guests and invitees to experience up close.
The very first piece on display is the LEGO cake trunk. A birthday cake for Monsieur Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday, made out of 31,700 LEGO bricks, which was born out of a collaboration between the House’s French atelier and seven children. Guests will conclude their visit in a soundproof room featuring a jukebox-like trunk created by Benji B himself using a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk his parents bought in the 1970s.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Registration can be made on their website here.
