Everything XG does they do it A1 flawless and their first solo concert in Singapore was no exception! On the evening of July 16, the South Korea-based, Japanese girl group returned to Singapore for their XG 1st World Tour "The First HOWL" show to rousing success. While this isn't Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey's first performance in Singapore, it is their first solo show, which made the night even more special for the seven members and their dedicated fan base, ALPHAZ.

Previously, the group was in town as one of the headliners for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023. Then, XG performed a shorter segment as they shared the stage with other top Asian talents such as Thai rapper MILLI, South Korean songstress BIBI and Jackson Wang as part of a collaboration with label, 88rising. Fast forward a couple of months and the talented ladies of XG return, this time with the spotlight all to themselves. And after watching their performance, it's safe to say that no one deserves the spotlight more.

'Powerful' is the first word that comes to mind when one thinks about XG. The seven-member group opened their show with arguably their first big international hit, "Shooting Star". The crowd went wild as the girls displayed their impressive vocals to a special band version of the track. They then transitioned seamlessly with a high energy, synchronised dance break into the hip-hop track, "GRL GVNG" — Keeping the atmosphere hype and dynamic. The group went on to perform all of their biggest tracks like their debut single, "Tippy Toes", "TGIF", "Mascara" and feel-good bop, "New Dance". Two renditions of their mega-hit R&B song, "Left Right" never fails to get ALPHAZ singing along. Towards the end of their almost two-hour long set, the group performed their latest rap single, "WOKE UP".

In between, the members showed off their individual charm and talent with solo segments of covers, executed with that XG flair. The rap line consisting of Cocona, Maya, Harvey and Jurin performed their XG Tapes. Each oozing with their own unique swag and flow. While the vocal line of Juria, Hinata and Chisa sang covers of Adele's "Hello", Taylor Swift's "Red" and Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy", showing off their live vocals and impressive range.

The fashion in the show is equally impressive as XG does not disappoint when it comes to pushing fashion boundaries. The members rocked silver, cyberpunk-esque stage outfits before swapping to more colourful ensembles in their signature Y2K style for brighter numbers like "New Dance" and "Mascara". Rather than coordinating fits, the group chose to let each members' uniqueness shine with Cocona, Jurin, Maya and Harvey having a more hip-hop style while Chisa, Hinata, and Juria went with more feminine elements.

Speckled in between each segment are clips of the girls in their journey to become XG, how they started training to become performers at a young age and worked hard in not just their vocals and rap, but also their choreography to become the polished group that they are today. It was endearing to watch the powerful XG members are young, fresh-faced trainees to see how far the group have come. And most importantly, how these girls stayed true to themselves and lettheir talent and individuality do the talking. With their world tour still going strong and many cities including , it's full steam ahead for XG who also recently announced their second mini-album titled, Something Ain't Right set to debut July 26.
