The Iconic Rivalry Between Naomi Campbell And Tyra Banks Is Back On
Although Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks had allegedly buried the hatchet on their (in)famous "rivalry" years ago, it seems that some things never change.
This week, Campbell took to her Instagram account to share an article entitled "Here's Why Fans Are Starting To Think Tyra Banks Is The Real Mean Girl, Not Naomi Campbell."
The article was an unflattering account of Banks, who currently hosts Dancing with the Stars, highlighting a number of the controversial moments during her time as the host of America's Next Top Model. While the modeling show was considered revolutionary in its heyday, recently, a few ugly moments from the series have resurfaced, casting its former host in a negative light.
During the early 1990s, Campbell and Banks had a tense relationship dynamic. Born in California, Banks said the British supermodel had made her feel unwelcome when she entered the fashion industry.
“As much as I was getting fashion shows, people didn't know that I would come home at night crying a lot because the woman I admired didn't want me to be there and was doing everything in her power to make me go away, ” she said.
While the two publicly "made up" in 2005 when Banks confronted Naomi on her daytime talk show, Tyra, it appears the truce is no longer in effect.
