Looks like a congratulations is in order for a brand new Thai celebrity couple! Yesterday it was confirmed that Thai heartthrob, Bright Vachirawit and former Thai idol turned solo singer and actress, Pornnappan Pornpenpipat (better know as Nene) are currently seeing each other romantically. The statement came directly from the two stars who addressed their relationship status after rumours swirled around the two stars. The source of the rumours came from a video of the two stars having been spotted holding hands while in Japan on April 21st. This coincides perfectly with Bright's recent solo concert in Tokyo called, Bright's Home Party in Japan. The event was held on April 20th and 21st, thus causing the video to go viral.

The next day, on April 22nd, Bright uploaded a statement addressing the video and rumours in a heartfelt letter to his fans confirming the rumours, stating, "I know there is recent news that might have caught you off guard. I just wanted to clarify a few things, especially for my fans who are always so caring and curious about how I am doing—yes, we are really dating." He went on to apologise for the shock the news may have caused and that they had no intentions of causing harm. "Those who have followed me for a long time know that I always strive to be respectful and true to myself," he said, "My focus is always on spreading love and positivity through my work and dedication."

He then assured his fans that, "Nene is one of the most precious people I've met. She makes me feel warm and safe every day we've been together. I hope you guys will cheer for us." Bright is, of course, one of the biggest stars in Thailand right now since his explosive success in shows like 2gether: The Series and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers. Hence, the news instantly went viral.

Nene also presented her own statement addressing the rumours to her fans through her Instagram. "I just wanted to clarify a few things, especially for our Neon Atoms who are always so caring and curious about how I'm doing," the singer said, "So, about the recent articles - yes, I’m currently in a relationship." She apologised for not being able to share the news sooner and cited that she likes to keep her personal life away from her music and profession. "My focus is always on spreading love and positivity through my music and performances for all of you wonderful people," she continued.

She also praised her partner saying, "Bright is a warm person. We support each other when things are tough and celebrate together when we're happy." Later, she went on to say how important feelings such as love are to an artist and that it's a huge motivator for creating new music for her.

2024 has been rife with celebrity couple announcements, mostly driven through pressures to address rumours. We saw this in Aespa's Karina and Lee Jae-wook as well as Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol who had to announce that they were dating before later splitting up due to the public pressures and constant online harassment they received from fans and netizens. Both Nene and Bright have met some backlash from angry fans since their announcement. Here's hoping this gorgeous celebrity couple can stick it out, because everyone deserves love.
