This summer is the reign of Taylor Swift

During her final U.S. show in Los Angeles for her highly-successful Eras Tour before heading across the pond to start her European leg, Swift surprised fans with the announcement that she is releasing her version of the album 1989 come October 27. The 2014 album was her first Grammy-winning pop album, with hits such as "Blank Space," "Wildest Dreams," and "Shake It Off."

Announcing the news on stage, Swift said, "The last time that I was so pleasantly surprised by some stuff that you guys did was when I announced that I was going to be re-recording. That was something that I expected to be just a me thing, just a personal thing. Since I was a teenager, I wanted to own my music. The way to do it was to re-record my albums, and the way that you have embraced ... that you have celebrated, that you really decided that it was your fight too, and that you were 100 percent behind me ... I will never stop thanking you for that."

She continued, "And so now, here we are on the last night of the U.S. leg of the Eras tour in the eighth month of the year on the ninth day. You might have noticed there are some new outfits in the show. There's something that I've been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I'll just sort of show you."

She then reveals the cover art for 1989 (Taylor's Version) on the big screen and its release date. Shortly afterward, for the Swifties who weren't at the Los Angeles show, she revealed the big news on Instagram, captioning the post, "Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVOURITE re-record I've ever done because the 5 From the Vault tracks are so insane. I can't believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!"

Adding to the excitement of the show was the number of celebrities that were in attendance. This includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Sadie Sink, Emma Stone (who is rumored to be the subject of Swift's newly released song "When Emma Falls in Love"), Kerry Washington, Sydney Sweeney, Emily Blunt, Becky G, Hilary Duff, and Halsey.

Meghan Markle was also in the crowd enjoying Swift's concert with her friend Lucy Fraser while Prince Harry was noticeably absent (he is reportedly in Tokyo participating in a summit).

Perhaps one of the most surprising celebrity guests was Karlie Kloss, Swift's ex-BFF who allegedly had a huge falling out with the singer after years of friendship. She was spotted with her two friends Marianne Fonseca and Misha Nonoo, sitting up in the stands — away from the VIP area.

So far, the re-recorded versions that have been released include Red, Fearless, and most recently, Speak Now. When she started her re-recording project, it was revealed that she is re-making all the albums released before 2019's Lover. With 1989 (Taylor's Version) coming out soon, the last two remaining re-recorded albums left to be released is Taylor Swift and Reputation.
