Congratulations are in order for actress Lee Yoo-Mi, who played everyone's beloved character Ji-yeong in Netflix's Squid Game. Prior to the live event for the 74th Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards on September 12th, the actress won Best Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, making history as the first Korean actress in the category to do so. There, the star wore a backless black velvet dress, accessorised with a lace collar and sleeves, simple drop earrings, and purple heeled pumps to accept her award.

After her deserving win against fellow nominees – Martha Kelly (Euphoria), Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show) and Sanaa Lathan (Succession), Hope Davis (Succession), and Harriet Walter (Succession), the actress took to Instagram to thank the Television Academy, director Hwang Dong-wook, her co-stars, Netflix, her entertainment family and her family for the honour. "Thank you for loving Jiyoung and I will continue to work harder," she said. "I feel so good. I'm so happy!"

Squid Game has had a great critical response since its premiere, earning it many awards and nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor (Lee Jung-jae), Best Supporting Actor (Park Hae-soo and Oh Young-soo) and Best Supporting Actress (Jung Ho-yeon) for the Emmy Awards this year.

Stay tuned to the official Emmy Awards this September to see how the rest fare.
