Korean News Outlets Report That BTS' V and Blackpink Jennie Have "Split Up"
While it was never officially acknowledged by the two global stars, South Korean news outlet have reported that the alleged celebrity couple has parted ways in lieu of BTS' V upcoming military enlistment
The rumour mill is chugging along as recently, South Korean media outlet JTBC reported that alleged celebrity couple, BTS' V and Blackpink's Jennie have decided to split ways as V is currently preparing to serve his mandatory military enlistment next week. JTBC cited sources in the Korean entertainment industry though it is important to note that the reported relationship itself has never been confirmed by either parties nor their respective talent management. Hence, there has been no official statements from YG Entertainment nor Big Hit Music regarding the reported break-up.
As two of the biggest stars globally today, rumours are common place surrounding the idols' dating life. However, rumours of V and Jennie dating took over the internet back in May 2022, when photos of a couple resembling the two stars seemingly on vacation in Jeju Island went viral. Neither party addressed the photo and their agencies declined to comment on their artists' private matters.
Rumours reignited again this year around the same time when a video of two people that looked like V and Jennie holding hands while strolling in the streets of Paris was circulated around the internet. Netizens noted that the two people caught on film were wearing outfits that the two stars wore that day. JTBC also reported that V had been invited to Blackpink's private listening party for their Born Pink studio album, along with his 'Wooga Squad' — His close friends consisting of Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-shik and Park Hyung-sik.
The rumours of the alleged break-up emerged closely after the announcement of all four members of Blackpink staying on at YG Entertainment and renewing their contract. It was also recently confirmed that V will be enlisting for his mandatory conscription on December 11, leading some netizens to believe that this could potentially a reason behind the alleged "breakup". Nevertheless, with no confirmation from either party, these all remain as speculations. Whatever the situation may be, we only wish for the best for both Jennie who's going full steam ahead with her activities in Blackpink and V for his upcoming military years.
