Over the weekend, the 38th Golden Disc Awards (GDA), which aims to celebrate the best achievements of artists and promote creativity within the music industry, took place in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sung Si-kyung and Cha Eun-woo hosted the award show, and our favourite Korean celebs strutted down the red carpet in their best looks.

ENHYPEN brought a sense of casual chic to the red carpet, donning sneakers with their black-and-white ensembles, while the girls of NewJeans turned up in soft, knee-length dresses, garnering praise from K-netizens for their ability to pull off a wide range of styling concepts this awards season. Making an appearance to present awards at the GDA, second-generation idol Tiffany Young from Girls’ Generation wore an elegant floor-length red gown and the members of Seventeen embraced the timeless appeal of sleek black suits for the event.

From the night's performances, IVE showcased the success of their 2023 music releases by performing a medley of ‘Baddie’, ‘Holy Moly’ and ‘I AM’ in soft cottage-core numbers. Le Sserafim performed a rock rendition of ‘Unforgiven’, their hit track featuring Nile Rodgers, with Korean rock band YB. The collaboration stage also saw the two groups performing YB’s 2010 track ‘Stay Alive’ and Le Sserafim’s ‘Fire in the Belly’. The powerhouses of performance, Seventeen took the stage with three of their mega hits of 2023 –‘Super’, ‘Ima -Even If The World Ends Tomorrow-’ and ‘God of Music’.

The boys of Seventeen snagged another Daesang (Grand Prize) for the 2023 awards season, by winning Album of the Year for their album FML. As for the Digital Song of the Year Daesang, NewJeans took home the prize with ‘Ditto’. The Best Album and Best Digital Song awards went to 10 artists each, with IVE, BTS’ Jungkook, Le Sserafim and Seventeen scoring awards in both categories. JYP boy band Stray Kids was awarded the Global K-Pop Artist Award, while ZEROBASEONE and FIFTY FIFTY were recognised with the Rookie Artist award. Known as the mastermind behind the roaring success of NewJeans, Min Hee-jin was awarded the prize for Best Producer.
