Everything We Know About Beyoncé's Upcoming Album 'Renaissance'

Late last night, Beyoncé announced the title and release date of her seventh studio album. Here's what we know so far.

Over the weekend, Beyoncé hinted with clues about a new album. The singer poked fun at fans, asking, “What is a B7?” causing a lot of chaos and confusion. Last night, Beyoncé finally gave the Beyhive the news they've been waiting for: new music is coming.

The album is titled Renaissance. Fans are currently able to pre-save the album and purchase mystery boxes of merchandise. So far, the record has 16 tracks. Listeners who have heard the album have described it as fierce, but the record is expected to hit the general public on July 29.

In 2021, Beyoncé hinted that she wanted this album to be used as an escape. “I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”

This is the "Formation" singer's latest studio album following the release of her 2016 masterpiece Lemonade. Since then, she has also released the collaborative album Everything Is Love with her husband Jay-Z, Homecoming: The Live Album from her 2018 Coachella performance, and The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack for the eponymous film as well as Black Is King, a visual album based on said soundtrack.

Not only has the music icon been hard at work these last six years, but she also became the Recording Academy's most awarded singer, most-awarded female artist, and second-most-awarded artist in Grammy history at the 2021 Grammys after her Best Rap Performance win for "Savage" with Megan Thee Stallion. She also received her first Oscar nomination earlier this year for her song "Be Alive" on the King Richard soundtrack.
