It's been more than a year since Disney unveiled the first images of Emma Stone dressed as the famous villain Cruella de Vil, a fictional fashion designer specializing in fur, who is eager at all costs to make coats from skin of Dalmatians.

Earlier this Wednesday, Disney has finally unveiled the long-awaited trailer for the film centered around this pioneering feminist, and whose story told in the film is strangely reminiscent of that of Joker by Joaquin Phoenix. In the trailer, Emma Stone lends her features to Cruella, who is described as "brilliant, nasty, a little demented" and who declares to whoever wants to hear her: " I am a woman, hear me roar."

"In 1970s London, young fashion designer Estella de Vil becomes obsessed with dogs' skins, especially Dalmatians, until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend known as Cruella," Disney describes the film.

Alongside Stone, Emma Thompson will play the baroness. Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Mark Strong and Emily Beecham, will also star in the movie.

“I, Tonya” filmmaker Craig Gillespie will helm “Cruella,” which is set to release in theaters on May 28 this year. Glenn Close, who played Cruella in Disney's 1996 remake of "One Hundred and One Dalmatians," is the executive producer of the film.

Check out the trailer below.

Take a look back at Cruella, played by Glenn Close earlier in the 1996 film 101 Dalmatians and its 2000 sequel 102 Dalmatians.
