5 Celebrities Who Were Injured By Fans On Stage
Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles, and Ava Max among other celebrity musicians are being attacked by crazed fans mid-performance in a disturbing decline of concert etiquette.
Concert etiquette is assumed by both the musician and the audience at a live performance. However, there is a disturbing trend as of recent in which celebrity performers are fearing for their safety as their own audience members begin to lose control. While the act of hurling an object at a performer is typically associated with feelings of disapproval or being a "hater," it appears to be a repeated behavior among crowds to shower their celebrity idols with gifts during their performance. Unfortunately, these "acts of love" often lead to injuries, arrests, and an instilled sense of fear in a performer.
From bracelets to one's very own cell phone, celebrity pop icons Harry Styles, Pink, and Bebe Rexha belong to the wide array of celebrity singers that have been attacked by their very own fans in the last five years. As the disturbing trend continues, pop stars across musical genres are in shock of their own following and their pure lack of concert etiquette.
Bebe Rexha
Pop star Bebe Rexha was performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City on her Best F’n Night of My Life Tour when she was struck in the eye by a manic fan's cell phone hurled from the audience. The singer was forced to end the show early as she was rushed to the hospital and later posted on Instagram with an apparent black eye and laceration on her left eyelid to inform fans of her stable condition.
Ava Max
Less than 24 hours after Bebe Rexha was struck in the face by a crazed fan's hurled cell phone, fellow celebrity personality and singer Ava Max was assaulted by a male fan when he jumped on the stage during her performance in Los Angeles on June 20, slapping her in the face and scratching the inside of her eye.
Harry Styles
During a Love On Tour performance in Vienna, Austria on Saturday, July 8, Harry Styles was struck in the eye by an unknown object from an audience member, leading Styles to double over in pain.
Pink
In the middle of her set at the British Summer Time Festival in London two weeks ago, a crazed fan tossed her deceased mother's ashes in a bag onto the stage at the singer's feet. Out of extreme discomfort, Pink responds with, "Is this your mom?" followed by, "I don't know how I feel about this," as seen in a video on Twitter.
Kelsea Ballerini
Country sweetheart Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the eye by a bracelet flung by a member of the audience mid-performance on her Heartfirst tour, sending the singer offstage in a panic to calm down before she, alongside her band and crew members, felt safe to continue the show.
