BLINKs Rejoice! Blackpink is Sticking Together as All 4 Members Renew Contracts

After much speculation surrounding their contracts with YG Entertainment coming to an end and whether Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa will be renewing their contracts, the news is now official!

BLINKs are about to have the best sleep of their lives tonight as we can rest easy knowing that Blackpink's future is looking brighter than ever as all four of its members have officially renewed their exclusive contracts with YG Entertainment. As one of the biggest global girl groups, naturally rumours and speculation swirled as Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa's initial contracts with the talent management was coming to an end.

With the undeniable success and star power Blackpink has achieved since their debut in 2016 both as a group and individually, fans wondered if rival talent companies might counter offer to win the girls over and concerns of the four members not being able to promote together should any of them choose to leave YG Entertainment. Fueling the speculations was also the lengthy contract negotiation period as YG Entertainment stayed tight lipped about the status... until today. The talent agency delivered the following statement, "Following careful discussions with BLACKPINK, we have signed a new exclusive contract for the group’s activities, based on the strong trust held in each other."

That statement alone along with the assurance that all four original members of Blackpink will be continuing as a group in the near future caused YG Entertainment stock shares to spike as much as 29% today, the company's biggest intraday jump in a decade. This would come as no surprise due to the global influence and accolades Blackpink has garnered over the years. Just recently, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé and Lisa were awarded Honourary MBEs from the British Royal Family for their work on climate change awareness. Not to mention, the K-pop quartet wrapped their massive Born Pink World Tour this year, performing more than 60 shows all over the world to sold-out arenas. This, on top of each member's individual achivements from solo singles to luxury fashion partnerships.

It is also important to note that while YG Entertainment has secured a new exclusive contract for group activities, their contracts for individual activities are currently still under negotiations. Hence, it could be a possibility for any of the four Blackpink members to sign to a different company to handle their individual activities and promotions. Stay tuned for more updates on that situation however today, we rejoice the fact there will definitely be more Blackpink to come!
