Blackpink's Lisa Makes History as the First K-pop Idol to Perform at Crazy Horse Paris
The Blackpink rapper and dancer makes history as the first K-pop artist to perform at the renowned cabaret as a guest artist.
Blackpink’s Lisa is known for many things – her world-class dancing, captivating stage presence, and for being the adored Global Ambassador for Celine and Bulgari. But one title we never expected her to embrace was cabaret performer. The K-pop star shocked the world when she announced that she would be appearing as a guest performer at the famed French cabaret for five exclusive shows. Taking the stage on 28, 29 and 30 September, Blackpink’s lead rapper showed off a different persona in a series of solo and group acts, joining the other Crazy Girls at Crazy Horse for their Totally Crazy show.
As a longtime fan of Crazy Horse and its distinct style, Lisa performed classics from the world of cabaret, like “But I am a Good Girl…” and “Crisis? What Crisis!?!”. Lisa has always been known for being a powerful and energetic performer, but with Crazy Horse, she explores a completely different genre of the art form. The intimate nature of a cabaret allowed Lisa to show off her expertise as an artist in a whole new light. And being the true performer that she is, Lisa rocked the stage costumes signature to the Totally Crazy show, but with a personal touch. Lisa joins the ranks of other distinguished guest artists including Beyonce, Dita Von Teese and Arielle Dombasle who have also performed shows at the esteemed entertainment spot.
Given that this is such a big moment for Lisa, we’re not surprised that tickets were quickly sold out for all five shows. Many celebs also made their way to cabaret situated in the heart of Paris. Bandmates Jisoo and Rosé were spotted at the show, showing their support with a big bouquet of flowers. Jennie also turned up to show Lisa her support for a different show, reportedly heading straight to Crazy Horse after arriving at the airport in Paris, a few days before she’s set to attend Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2024 show. Other celeb friends of Lisa’s were seen attending the show, including model Kaia Gerber, actor Austin Butler and singer-songwriter Rosalía.
Every night after her performances, Lisa made sure to dedicate some time to thank the fans waiting outside the venue, who did not manage to snag tickets to the show. Multiple videos show the idol joyfully stopping outside to meet with fans and sign their photographs.
