Blackpink’s Jisoo in Talks For Possible Film Debut with ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint’
If she takes on the role, she will be acting alongside Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Min-ho.
According to various insider sources, Jisoo from Blackpink is reportedly seriously considering her first-ever movie role. YG Entertainment, Jisoo’s management agency, confirmed that the singer received an offer for a role in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint and that she is reviewing the offer positively. If Jisoo does star in the production, this will be the South Korean star’s first dive into the world of cinema.
While Jisoo previously took on small roles and cameos in older productions, she truly made a splash in the acting sphere with her leading role in Snowdrop. She performed opposite Jung Hae-in, and together, the pair made Snowdrop one of the most talked-about dramas of 2022. The starring role in the romance K-drama definitely put Jisoo on the map as a rising actress, seeing as she’s now receiving offers to work alongside major players within the acting scene.
The producers of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint are supposedly in talks with Ahn Hyo-seop from A Time Called You and The King: Eternal Monarch’s Lee Min-ho as well, for the film’s male leads. The film is based on a web novel of the same name and tells the tale of Kim Dok-ja, whose world suddenly mirrors the happenings of the novel he reads. Jisoo’s potential role in the film will be that of Lee Ji-hye, an ex-high school student originating from the world of the novel. There is also an ongoing webtoon for Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, which draws direct inspiration from the novel, which is all the rage with the Korean public.
