If you haven't had the time to catch the much buzzed about reality programme, fret not! Follow along as we fill you in on the best seven moments in Single’s Inferno Season 3 that made us gasp (in shock or surprise). But be warned, major spoilers ahead!
Finding Out There are 2 Infernos
Perhaps the thing that was most different about the third season compared to the earlier runs is that there are, in fact, two different Infernos, each with their respective singles. We were introduced to Gyu-ri, Hye-seon, Min-young, Min-woo, Jin-seok and Gwan-hee on the first island (which we all thought was the only island), then introduced to the rest after the couple’s first night in Paradise. After a night in Paradise with Gwan-hee, Hye-seon’s abrupt first encounter with a new male is thrown off balance when it turns out to be Min-gyu, who comes from the other island. Of course, things get hotter when the two islands eventually merge, allowing all 11 singles ( Min-ji had not yet joined the show) to finally meet everyone.
Gwan-hee Listing His Initial Top 3
In Episode 5, the singles are given a chance to unwind with some drinks and chat freely with one another. But there was a definite moment of tension when Gwan-hee, who had already gone to Paradise twice, couldn’t just name one person as his top choice at that point. The shock came when Gwan-hee said, “The three women are her, this one, and that one,” while pointing to Hye-seon, Ha-jeong and Gyu-ri. It was his blunt approach that sent shock waves through both the contestants and the panellists, who could feel his, albeit possibly unintentional, lack of respect for the women involved.
Min-ji Joining The Clan
That same episode, we welcomed the cutesy Min-ji, the newest addition to the singles on Inferno, who understandably were rattled by her presence. The guys were all treated to one-to-one dates with Min-ji to get to know her, and she eventually got the opportunity to go on dates with two of them. Funnily enough, Min-ji’s presence was enough to stir some excitement in Jin-seok, who prior only had eyes for Min-young. Min-ji ended up vibing with Jin-seok and Min-woo most, and brought them along to Paradise.
Gyu-ri Winning the First Game
For the first game of the season, it was a girls’ battle. The six ladies were randomly paired up and had to snatch off their opponent’s cap and tail. From the getgo, there was a lot of confidence from the men in Min-young, who is a Pilates instructor. Min-young ended up losing her first match with Si-eun and amongst the girls who were pining over Gwan-hee, Hye-seon took the lead over Ha-jeong. In the end, Gyu-ri emerged the winner during the final threeway face-off between her, Si-eun and Hye-seon.
Min-woo and Si-eun’s Fateful Conversation
Si-eun and Min-woo, who always had some interest in each other, were never given the opportunity to go away to Paradise together. By some cruel twist of fate, one of them was always removed from Inferno, leaving the other party behind to ponder what could really happen between them. But everything changed during one fateful conversation that they shared. In an unexpectedly open and honest talk, the pair shared their feelings and eventually came to the conclusion that they both liked each other. One of our top heart-fluttering moments, for sure.
Gyu-ri saying No to Si-eun
After Min-woo and Si-eun’s confirmation of feelings, things were left unsaid between Min-woo and Gyu-ri, who had gone to Paradise just the previous night as Gyu-ri’s reward for winning the first game. Gyu-ri approached Min-woo for a chat, which ended in an intense questioning session from Gyu-ri. Even the panelists commented that she felt like a school principal. Noting their long conversation, Si-eun made the first move to talk to Min-woo by saying, “Can I talk with you, Min-gyu?”, but Gyu-ri denied her the chance, in a savage two word response: “Yeah, no”. Gyu-ri’s curt, cutthroat response came as a shock to the panelists as well, since Gyu-ri was finally showing her true colours.
Gwan-hee’s Final Choice
The grand finale of Single’s Inferno is always the long-awaited final selection, where the singles decide who they want to leave the island with. Gwan-hee, the favourite amongst the female contestants, had three women lined up in front of him: Min-ji, Ha-jeong and Hye-seon. It was a tight fight between Min-ji and Hye-seon, since Gwan-hee had never once publicly confirmed his final decision between the two. In a shocking twist, the professional basketballer eventually left Inferno with Hye-seon, whom he had been to Paradise with twice, instead of Min-ji, whom everyone thought had captured his heart.
