The low-maintenance change started to gain attention when Charlize Theron proudly displayed her dark roots at this year's SAG Awards, even drawing attention to them by placing a diamond bracelet straight down her middle part. "I didn't have time to do my roots," Theron explained on the red carpet.

"It is much easier to style, with little maintenance and less visits to the salon," says Stephanie Brown, salon master at IGK Soho, who works with Kate McKinnon. "People are trying to simplify their beauty routines with effortless hair colour."
