At L'Officiel Singapore, we take beauty very seriously. Editor in Chief

“Recently, as I’ve been having monthly facial hair removal sessions (in order to get to the root of skin irritation), less is truly more. In selecting post-treatment products, I avoid AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, sodium lauryl sulfate and other chemical detergents. During this time, my go-to has most certainly been sunscreen.”

Hanan Haddad

Digital Editor

“Beyond beautiful packaging and viral marketing, I always look for efficacy and effectiveness with a ‘less is more’ approach as a beauty consumer. When it comes to skincare, I’m constantly keeping an eye out for ingredients that soothe and balance out actives that do the heavy lifting. I’m a strong believer that a solid routine doesn’t have to break the bank and that formulas reign supreme.”

Senior Beauty and Digital Writer

“Always remember to take your makeup off before bed. Never sleep with your hair wet. Avoid leaving your vitamin C serums out in your hot and humid bathroom. Change up your hair parting every couple of months. Test fragrances on your skin before purchasing them. And never exfoliate more than twice a week!”

Dr Angeline Yong

Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon

“Your skin is as unique as you are. It’s important to listen to your skin and discover what works best for you. Personally, I prefer to use only a few high-quality and high-potency-focused standalone products for skincare. This approach not only suits my busy lifestyle where I have to balance work, international conferences and family commitments, but also allows me to specifically titrate my skincare based on the time and season of my skin. Applying too many products can potentially clog the skin and increase the risk of skin irritation.”

Lubna Ashiblie

Professional Makeup Artist

“Your makeup will only look as good as your skin. Take time to find the products that will work for your skin; this does not always mean the most hyped products. Makeup should not be the solution to get rid of your flaws but a way to enhance your natural beauty. In this day and age, it’s best to not get caught up in the advancement of digital technologies of what is expected with beauty but rather to be able to identify what real skin looks like.”

Keyana

Artist

“I’ve always been an extremely active person and I’m really sensitive about the things I put on my skin. An ideal for me has always been to sit in the comfort of being in the sun, confident that my skin is being taken care of while it is topped with makeup products that not only last but also enhance, never irritate, and come from an ethical background.”
