Gigi Hadid Shares The First Photos Of Her Baby Bump On Instagram
Gigi Hadid has been keeping a pretty low profile since news of her pregnancy broke back in April, but as her due date in September draws near, the supermodel took to Instagram just yesterday to share a never-before-seen series of pregnancy portraits.
In the black-and-white images lensed by fashion photography duo Luigi and Iango, Gigi shows off her baby bump in a diaphanous, bell-sleeved mini dress and a floor-length gown by DI PETSA.
"Growin an angel," Hadid captioned one snapshot. "cherishing this time. appreciate all the love & well wishes," she wrote alongside another.
Although Gigi spent the past few months on her family's farm in Pennsylvania, she and Zayn Malik, her boyfriend and the father of her child, are back in New York as she awaits the arrival of her baby daughter.
A number of the model's famous friends gushed over the new photo shoot in the comment sections, including Dua Lipa, who stated "crying!!!!!!!! the most beautiful mama", and Gisele, who wrote "The biggest gift. The biggest love. You look radiant."
In an Instagram Live session about a month and a half ago, Gigi explained why she has been holding off on speaking more about her pregnancy journey.
"I am so grateful for the positive comments and the questions and wanting just to know that we're all good and safe, and everything's going great and I love you guys," she said. "Obviously, I think a lot of people are confused why I'm not sharing more, but like, I'm pregnant through a pandemic. Like, obviously my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world."
"There's a reason that I've felt that it's not really something I need to share, apart from with my family and friends," she continued. "A lot of people have lost lives due to [the] coronavirus... And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that."
