Kate Spade Fall 2017 & Spring 2017
For the first time ever, kate spade new york presented a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, showcasing not one but two collections at New York Fashion Week.
Commandeering all four floors of the iconic Russian Tea Room, the entire space was transformed to resemble the home of a kate spade new york girl. The second floor was dedicated to the brand's Fall 2017 collection, which was inspired by the 1920's poster children for female emancipation, Josephine Baker and Louise Brooks. Awash in sumptuous reds with splashes of leopard print and vibrant poppy patterns, the collection featured peasant dresses, embroidered coats, capes, high-collared lace frocks – all done up with a distinct Eastern European flair that was befitting of the venue.
One floor above was the Spring 2017 "see now, buy now" collection. The Morocco-influenced collection was designed with the New York woman in mind: rose prints featured heavily on Seventies-style chiffon dresses and two-piece denim ensembles, alongside airy eyelet shift dresses, embroidered coats, and knit ponchos. Even accessories were treated to a Moroccan makeover: think with pom-pom earrings, straw camel handbags, and block-heel sandals adorned with tassels.
