Fortunately for us all, the collaboration between Dior and Daniel Arsham is the gift that keeps on giving. Having joined forces with the American artist on the set of its Spring/Summer 2020 menswear show, as well as on a capsule of ready-to-wear and accessories, and a collection of limited edition art objects, Dior has now reimagined its CD1 sneakers in fresh colourways inspired by Arsham’s Future Relics series.

Already a favourite of J Balvin, Swae Lee, Ricky Martin, Eric Chou, and more, the leather and technical mesh sneakers are splashed in gradient pink and blue tie-dye along the uppers (not unlike nebulae in outer space), and adorned with transparent inserts that echo the quartz crystals used by Arsham in his “fictional archaeology” sculptures. The house logo, meanwhile, is stamped across the tongue, heel counter, and welded outsole, not that you’d need another reminder that these sweet kicks are Dior.

The new CD1 range also includes minimalist iterations in monochrome black and white, along with several eye-catching versions enlivened by hot pink or grey-blue accents on the soles and laces, as a tribute to the favourite shades of the maison’s founding father.
