A Look Back At Leonardo DiCaprio's Best '90s Moments
Long before Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles, Leonardo DiCaprio was the Hollywood heartthrob whose pictures covered bedroom walls around the world. Born and raised in Los Angeles, DiCaprio got his start as an extra in films and TV shows. In 1991, however, he received his first major role on Growing Pains as Luke Brower, a homeless teenager taken in by the Seaver family. Throughout the rest of the '90s, DiCaprio garnered critical acclaim for his moving performances in The Basketball Diaries, Romeo and Juliet, and of course, Titanic, among others. Since then, the Academy Award winner has gone down in the history books as one of the leading actors of our time.
Outside of his career, DiCaprio is known as an avid environmentalist, spearheading projects around the world in support of animal welfare, energy conservation and climate change relief efforts. Recently, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star also narrated the Netflix docuseries, Whose Vote Counts, Explained, ahead of the 2020 election.
To celebrate the philanthropic film star on his 46th birthday, L'Officiel looks back at milestone moments from DiCaprio's younger years.
