It’s been quite the year for Elton John. In February, the prolific British singer-songwriter released his 33rd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night, which was allegedly written in and recorded in 17 days. April saw the curtains fall on Billy Elliott: The Musical, the 11th longest-running musical in West End history. John composed the music for the show which ran for 11 years (that’s 4,600 performances!) at the Victoria Palace Theatre. In October, it was announced that he would be releasing a memoir, a “no-holds-barred account” of his life in the spotlight, to be written with music journalist Alexis Petridis. The book, which will be the first and only official autobiography of the 69-year-old star born Reginald Kenneth Dwight, is set to be released in 2019.

This festive season, John ends the year on a suitably high note. The artist, who was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1995, has collaborated with Burberry to release a limited-edition vinyl LP box set of six of his classic albums. Priced at SGD575, the limited-edition run comprises only 800 box sets. Each specially designed box is individually numbered, embossed with John’s signature in gold and flecked all over with gold glitter. Inside: six 12-inch vinyl LPs with original artwork and sleeve notes that’ll keep you informed and entertained as you put each record on.

The big question: which albums are included in this limited-edition box set? It includes Elton John (1970), Madman Across The Water (1971), Elton John 17-11-70 (1970), Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy (1975), Too Low For Zero (1983) and Songs From The West Coast (2001). The albums were remastered from the original tapes by legendary music engineer Bob Ludwig, and the vinyl cut at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London. The release also highlights Burberry’s and John’s continuing efforts to support emerging British recording artists.

Where to get your hands on this limited-edition box set: at Burberry ION Orchard (02-16/17/18 ION Orchard, 6509 9326) where it will be sold exclusively.
