Van Cleef & Arpels' latest collection, Two Butterfly, celebrates the coming of spring

This Spring, a true icon of the Maison, the Butterfly, takes flight in playful elegance. It features the brilliant blue of turquoise amidst bright, yellow gold, and glistening diamonds — colours that evoke blue skies and soft, springtime sunshine.  

The use of turquoise is symbolic: The stone was first prized by the Egyptian Pharaohs and Aztecs, and was set in jewellery, religious objects, and even ground into a powder to be used as make-up. The use of turquoise adds to the connection human beings have had with nature while celebrating a colour that is evocative of spring. 

The asymmetry of this ring creates an elegant sense of movement as the butterflies feel like they are dancing in a circle, connected by the rings. When worn, the band is concealed on the underside of the finger and the butterflies, perched on either end, seem to float effortlessly alongside one another.

The motifs also feature two different settings: A flurry of shimmering white diamonds set in exquisite gold and vivid, and a sky blue turquoise set with a marquise diamond centre. The mixed motifs add character to the piece, while providing depth and dimension.
