Tippi Hedren Stars in New Gucci Jewellery Campaign
It’s no secret that Gucci’s Alessandro Michele has an affinity for Old Hollywood film stars. At the top of 2018, the designer created a custom look for Lana Del Rey at the 2018 Grammys, channeling actress Hedy Lamarr's character in the 1941 film Ziegfeld Girl. Now, Michele has moved on from inspiration and begun tapping them for his campaigns. Look no further than Gucci’s new timepiece and jewelry ads, which star American actress and former model Tippi Hedren.
Hedren is best known for her roles in Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary thrillers The Birds and Marnie. The campaign sees her and fellow Gucci models posing for photographer Colin Dodgson as they sit around a crystal ball — luckily, no birds in sight. At 88 years old, Hedren decidedly holds her own against her younger counterparts, proving that just like a good piece of jewelry, she is timeless.
