'La Rose Dior' explores the different facets of Christian Dior's favourite flower
We take a look at Dior's latest jewellery collection, and its latest interpretation of the fabled flower.
Dior's long love affair with the rose continues with their latest jewellery collection, La Rose Dior. The Maison's Creative Director of its fine jewellery division, Victoire de Castellane, divides the collection into three different sections, each presenting a different side of Christian Dior's beloved flower.
While pieces from the Rose Dior Couture section present a more classic perception of the rose — featuring delicate pieces wrought of diamonds and, of course, rose gold — de Castellane gets a little more daring with the Bois de Rose selection. There, she reinterprets the flower's thorny stems with an edgy, graphic eye, creating bold, asymmetric pieces that gamely lend themselves to playful mixing and matching.
But the apogee of the collection is undoubtedly the Rose Dior Bagatelle line: Here, you'll find bold, evocative pieces glided with diamonds, like the mono-earring — which creeps down the helix to the earlobe in a vision of white gold and diamonds — and the stunning Rose Dior Bagatelle necklace.
