Hong Ling and Nick Teo share values of the Tissot Seastar and their affinity with the sea

Tissot’s new Seastar Collection is about moments of inner rebalance, freedom and pure enjoyment, and being away from the frenetic city life. Where is your ideal vacation destination to unwind?

Hong Ling: I have always wanted to visit the Maldives. I love the sea as well as the stunning white sand beaches, turquoise lagoons, and beautiful corals. The reason to go to the Maldives is for pure relaxation. That is the kind of holiday that will excite me!

Nick Teo: My ideal vacation destination to unwind is always somewhere close to nature like beaches & forest trails. If I have to choose, it will be Bali as I find it very enchanting. There are tons of water sports (swimming, snorkelling) that can be done. Also, at the same time, there are many places in nature I can explore which are very zen and enthralling.

Given your busy schedule with work, what are the moments you cherish the most?

Hong Ling: The moments I spend with my family. My mum is a very good cook so she feeds the family very well [smiles]. Also, it is so hard to manage Nick’s and my time to travel together so I really cherish the times when Nick and I get to travel to see the world. It’s one of our bucket lists.

Nick Teo: During my busy schedule, the time that I spend meditating is the moment I cherish most. Meditation allows me to regain my focus and energy when I am very tired either physically or mentally. It helps me to get back on track and to perform better at work.

The Tissot Seastar is deeply connected to the ocean and nature. What comes to mind when you think of the sea?

Hong Ling: Calm, peacefulness, and a sense of happiness.

Nick Teo: I used to have thalassophobia but after I went on my first snorkelling trip, I instantly fell in love with the sea. I did a countless number of snorkels at picturesque places around the world. I am always mesmerised by the underwater world. Being in the endless ocean gives me peace of mind.

Elegance, trend, and performance are the attributes of the Tissot Seastar. Which of these attributes do you relate most to?

Hong Ling: Performance. Great performance is never out of luck, it takes a lot of focus and hard work. I have been reminding myself of this, and to keep going.

Nick Teo: I relate most to trends and performances. As an artiste, I find it very important to keep up with trends. I love watching dramas and movies, not just for entertainment, but to keep myself up-to-date with the current shows. Staying trendy in fashion is always what I do to upkeep my image as an artiste. I love working out in the gym and playing basketball. Regular training and practice allow me to perform well in the sports I love.
