Dior’s New High Jewellery Collection is Coming Up Roses
The Dior Rose collection represents the epitome of sophistication, using precious jewels — sapphires from Myanmar, Colombian emeralds, rubies from Mozambique and sparkling diamonds — to celebrate the renovation of the House’s historic home.
A rooftop garden and an exhibition gallery will be added to Dior's storied boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne — the birthplace of the brand — to further the maison's story.
Inspired by the new additions to the boutique, Victoire de Castellane, the Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie for over 20 years, felt compelled to create a “Planet Dior” — encasing high jewellery in the form of several interpretations of the rose: Here, they appear as abstract couture, in stained-glass, and in futuristic designs.
First unveiled at a grand event in Chengdu, China, last month, the jewels glimmered on necks of models who graced the runway donned in dresses specially designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Creative Director of Dior women.
