Almost six decades ago in 1966, FRED debuted its first Force 10 creation, infused with founder Fred Samuel and his family’s love for the sea and sailing. “One day, my eldest son had the funny idea of braiding sailing cables, fixed at both ends with rivets, to create a bracelet that he gave to his wife. For her birthday, he reimagined the same design with a gold clasp in the shape of a marine carabiner. To enhance its value, he added links along the bracelet,” the French jeweller’s website recounts the origins of Force 10.
