Zoey Deutch is Max Mara's Face of the Future For 2017
Earlier this month, Women In Film, Los Angeles (WIF) celebrated outstanding women in the entertainment industry with the 2017 Crystal + Lucy Awards, presented by sponsors Max Mara and BMW. Hosted by actress and comedian Jessica Williams, the gala event took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California with key guests in attendance, including WIF LA President Cathy Schulman, WIF LA Executive Director Kirsten Schaffer, Max Mara Ambassador and Ownership Nicola Maramotti, Vanity Fair Executive West Coast Editor Krista Smith, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Redford, Aisha Tyler, and countless other celebrities.
The highlight of the evening was the 2017 Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award, which was presented to actress Zoey Deutch. In its 15th year as presenting sponsor, Max Mara traditionally honours up-and-coming actresses who have made outstanding contributions to the community at large. Deutch joins the esteemed company of past year award-winners, which include Emily Blunt, Kate Mara, Katie Holmes, Zoe Saldana, and Natalie Dormer.
The 2017 Crystal + Lucy Awards also saw the crowning of other award-winners. Actress and producer Elizabeth Banks won The Crystal Award for Excellence in Film for her role as a passionate advocate for women’s equality and opportunity. In addition, Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross was awarded The Lucy Award for Excellence in Television, while Lupita Nyong’o presented the BMW Dorothy Arzner Directors Award to her Queen of Katwe director, Mira Nair.
