Walter Chiapponi Officially Leaves Tod's As Creative Director
After coming to a mutual agreement with the Italian label, Walter Chiapponi will leave the maison after presenting his latest Spring/Summer 2024 women's collection during Milan Fashion Week.
Following Gabriela Hearst's departure from Chloé, the creative director of Tod's, Walter Chiapponi, is also bidding farewell. Having steered the creative ship for both men's and women's collections since 2019, Walter Chiapponi will bid adieu to Tod's after unveiling his final women's collection for the spring/summer 2024 season on September 22 during Milan's Women's Fashion Week. "We express our gratitude to Walter for the remarkable journey we have embarked on together and for the shared dedication," explains Diego Della Valle, the president and managing director. "Like Walter, we too will fondly remember this experience, and we seize this opportunity to extend our appreciation to the talented individuals in the style office who have consistently showcased immense expertise and loyalty to the brand, achieving exceptional outcomes." The question remains: who will assume the role of Tod's next creative director? The maison responds in the press release, stating, "The announcement regarding the new creative direction will be made in the coming months."
