Make Way For Versace's Magnificent Virtus
First seen on the runway of Versace's Fall-Winter 2019 show, the Virtus is the newest addition to the Italian luxury fashion house's collection of must-have bags. Bearing the same name as the Roman deity, Virtus is a bold symbol of the brand's lavish aesthetic heritage, living up to its namesake of strength, courage and excellence-birthing forth a new age of femininity.

Bright and bold hues define the Virtus bag in this Fall-Winter 2019 collection, coming in a variety of eye-catching colours such as turquoise, fuchsia and coral red. For those who prefer something a little more toned-down and suitable for everyday use- the camel, black and white provide some pretty practical options without looking overly serious-perfect for taking one from the office to after-work drinks.
Speaking of spectacular leather workmanship, the Virtus is also available in a range of smooth to V-letter pattern quilting finishes, with the bag itself made from supple calfskin leather.
In a decadent display of classic Versace heritage, a large gold-tone metal "V" takes centre stage on the front of the bag, embellished with intricate acanthus leaves from Versace’s signature Barocco, inspired by the brand's SS92 Personal Alphabet print, and most importantly, heralding the values embodied by both the brand and the Roman deity.
Featuring a magnetic flap-over closure to make sure that your belongings are safe, some models of the Virtus bag also include shiny jacquard inserts with the V-letter motif embroidered in metallic thread.
Talking about all-encompassing versatility, the Virtus comes in a variety of different bags models, including a tote, top handle, belt, shoulder and an evening bag.
As Donatella puts it: "When I started the think of a new design of a bag that would then become the Virtus Bag, I first asked myself what a woman looks for in a bag, or accessories in general, and tried to identify myself with them. When I choose a bag, besides the aesthetic and quality of the materials used, I also consider when I will use it and most of all, if it suits me. For this reason, from the beginning, I wanted to create a versatile family of bags: there’s the top-handle version, the crossbody, but also the mini and the belt bag. Something for everyone!”
