All The Best Red Carpet Looks From The Venice Film Festival
Due to the unprecented circumstances of 2020, many events, award ceremonies and festivals such as Cannes, SXSW, Tribeca were postponed or completely cancelled this year.
The Venice Film Festival, the longest running film festival in the world, still took place this year, albeit under strict safety measures. Although the magnificence and spectacle of the festival did not reach that of previous years, it still remains a festival where we can witness some much needed red carpet fantasizing, and perhaps witness traces of what events could look like under Covid-19.
Strict protocols were adopted during the festival, masks was mandatory, there were increased distance between seats, while body temperatures were checked before the screening. On the red carpet, there were no audiences or cheering crowds.
Tilda Swinton, one of the first celebrities to arrive at the festival, showed up in a full Chanel look and mask. The actress made sure to pay tribute to the recently deceased Marvel Cinema Universe actor, Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman, declaring "Wakanda Forever", while accepting her Lifetime Achievement Award this year. 'Viva Venezia. Cinema cinema cinema. Wakanda Forever. Nothing but love'., she said, at the end of her acceptance speech.
Another celebrity who made a stylish entrance to the Venice Film Festival was Cate Blanchett, who appeared in wide-leg trousers and jackets, and is this year's jury president.
