The silk scarf is a classic and versatile accessory. Making its debut in Ancient Egyptian times and eventually popularized by Hermès and Audrey Hepburn, tt’s styling possibilities are endless -- it can be worn as a chic necktie, a bohemian headband, and as is the case with this season, as a scarf top.

With temperatures rising, we’re looking for ways to stay cool, comfy, while looking chic at the same time. This warm-weather friendly trend has been spotted across our instagram feeds, including top personalities Bella Hadid and DJ Peggy Gou.

This trend isn’t anything new, though. It was especially popular in the 90s and early 2000s, where Kate Moss, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé wore them on stage or for social outings.

The great thing about this trend is that you probably already have a silk scarf lying around somewhere in your wardrobe, so you can take part in this trend without making a new purchase.

Ironically, it doesn’t require a top. Simply fold your printed silk squares into half to create a diamond shape and fasten it at the back for a statement silhouette. Just check out this nifty tutorial by Camila Coehlo:
