Brussel-based visual art performance and dance troupe t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e was founded in 2003 when a brief encounter in Hong Kong brought artist Pierre Larauza and dance choreographer Emmanuelle Vincent together. Their performance combines visual art, cinematic experience along with dance choreography to address cultural and diversity issues, often collaborating with various performers from all over the world, including L'Officiel Singapore's October cover girl, Suboi.

In a special collaboration with Kenzo, we profile the talented individuals from t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e in Kenzo's La Collection Memento N°1.

Minh Anh Vu, 21

Dancer, Vietnam

The young dancer has only just started collaborating with t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e but her dance background tells us there will be more to come. She started training professionally at age of four and has a degree in dance from the prestigious Guangxi Arts Institute in China. When she's not performing with t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e, Minh practises with Bong Sen Threatre, Vietnam's national traditional dance company.

As the co-founder of t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e, Vincent honed her choreography skills in the many countries and places she visited as a dancer, often making use of the opportunities to know various international artists from different backgrounds. As a young child, she was trained professionally in contemporary dance and threatre, eventually cementing her craft with a Masters of Perfomance Arts degree.

Thy Nguyên Truong Minh, 35

Painter and illustrator, Belgium

The Brussel-born, Vietnamese artist initiated La Centrifugeuse, a cultural exchange project between Belgium, France and Vietnam, is involved in several art projects centering around cross-cultural matters. His background in visual narration and illustrations allows him to explore painting experiments, and sees the artist travelling between Europe and Asia for that. Thy also illustrated the cover art that was inspired by a poppy print from Kenzo's archives for L'Officiel Singapore's October issue.
