Tory Burch Fall 2017

Tory Burch nails 1940's glamour and blue-blooded romance in her runway ode to The Philadelphia Story

Tory Burch is a name synonymous to WASP-y Americana. So it was no surprise that Katharine Hepburn's blue-blooded character in The Philadelphia Story (1940) played muse to the designer's Fall 2017 collection.

The runway at The Whitney Museum of American Art yesterday was a charming throwback to this piece of cinematic history. Fair Isle sweaters, slouchy plaid/corduroy trousers, sherling coats, pussy-bow blouses all spoke to Hepburn's signature easy elegance - elevated with scrolling TB logos, gold medallion necklaces, and rhinestone bauble buttons as the requisite Tory Burch finishes we all know and love.
