Who she is: Beauty? Check. Brains? Check. Here’s a model who can do both. Hailing from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Pooja Mor is not your average Asian beauty – not only does she have a degree in information technology, she’s also one of India's top models.
Back in 2012, while still studying computer engineering in college, Mor entered a local beauty pageant on a whim – and won. That prompted her to delve into the world of modeling ("Pageants are super girly") before being discovered by Elite Model Management on Instagram. Fast forward a couple of years, the sultry stunner – and avid practitioner of the ancient meditative practice of Falun Dafa – is on an upward trajectory to career success.
Career highlights: Since making her international runway debut at Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Louis Vuitton Cruise 2016 show in Palm Springs, the 25-year-old has gone on to work with likes of Stella McCartney, Elie Saab, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana, and Calvin Klein. She's also a familiar face in magazine editorials – her most memorable being a moody black and white shoot with Peter Lindbergh for Vogue Italia. You name it, she’s probably been in it (and on it).
Why she is one to watch: As the second-largest population in the world, it's about time an Indian face is putting the country on the global map. And Mor? She's more than capable.
