These Minimalist Looks are the Perfect Summer Wardrobe Inspiration

What better way to set off your summer glow than with an all-white look? The light brightness of white, specifically, monochrome white, can help evoke an instant sense of resort wear and its lightness is just perfect for sun-drenched summer days.  

Brimming with a sweet, girlish charm, Swedish influencer Matilda Djerf's elegantly casual look featured a white tube top with a matching, low rise, midi skirt with a flowy yet body-hugging silhouette. She completed the delectably feminine look with a pair of white, contemporary-cottagecore-esque sandals to match and accessorised with a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag for a touch of vintage-chic.

Love Island's Millie Court and model Elsa Hosk both opted for dresses in their monochromatic white ensembles. Court went for a '00s-inspired look pairing a totally Y2k, bright white halter dress with baby spice-esque white platform sneakers. Ankle socks that peeked out from the tops of the sneakers added a hint of vintage '50s golfwear.

Hosk, on the other hand, went for a little of the old-west while in the California desert for Coachella, pairing a white, fringed hem, cross-front halter mini with white, square-toed, heeled tie-up sandals and for a touch of colour, a muted cactus green, Saint Laurent handbag that hinted at the hues of the desert. 

For a breezy, sportier vibe, American model Jasmine Tookes casually tucks a slightly oversized, white shirt into a pair of white knit mini shorts. Gold-tone accessories like layered bracelets and hoop earrings add a touch of resort-wear luxe as she completed the look with Bottega Veneta's ever-stylish Mini Jodie in white to match. 

The all-important, ultra-versatile, white crop top is a summer wardrobe essential that models and influencers can't get enough of. Both model Elsa Hosk and Italian influencer Veronica Ferraro oozed model-off-duty vibes teaming white crop tops with blue denim jeans and oversized fit outwear.

Blending the fresh youthfulness of Cali-cool with a hint of athleisure, Hosk's look featured a brighter wash of blue denim teamed with bright a bright white bra crop top and an oversized white shirt that she wore as a jacket. A white baseball cap added a sporty element, which, when teamed with jeans in a classic blue hue, evoked a sense of Americana. 
 
Ferraro went for an edgier look, pairing a cropped white tank with a slouchy, oversized leather jacket and grungey jeans in a grey tinged light wash blue. The combination of a white top with a leather jacket hinted at the iconic '50s pairing of a white T-shirt and leather jacket, putting a refreshing, summertime spin on a retro aesthetic. 

German influencers Caroline Daur and Leonie Hanne have also been spotted in variations of a white crop. Daur's summer-perfect Coachella outfit teamed a white cropped tank with a black crochet maxi skirt and Miu Miu's Matelassé leather shoulder bag and black boots, creating a uniquely minimalistic, contemporary boho-chic look. Hanne opted for an oversize fit, a white cropped Celine typography t-shirt and glossy black pants.

For a burst of fun, movement and texture she teamed the minimalistic look with white, opened-toed, Chanel platform heels that featured an adorably chic, interlocking CC monogram print. She this graphic, minimalistic look by accessorising with Dior's iconic, Lady Dior bag in white. 

There is no questioning that crochet is a hot trend this season. And yes, even with the busy weave patterns, you can do minimalist; it is all about opting for the right colours and shapes. The natural, bohemian nature of crochet makes it perfect for the boho summer look, seen on models Devon Winsor and Joy Corrigan as well as former Victoria's Secret Angel, Jasmine Tookes. Winsdor and Tookes both opted for crochet Maxi dresses, the perfect minimalist silhouette to do the boho-chic trend. 

Winsdor opted for a summertime bohemian glamour look, teaming a natural, off-white, body-skimming dress that featured an intricate lace-esque knit with an evening a creamy-toned evening clutch and slivery flats while Tookes added a dash of country to her Coachella ensemble, pairing a latticed, monochrome dress with black, cowgirl-esque boots for a western flair. The high slit of the dress lifted the heaviness of the crochet while a black leather belt that matched her boots, cinched n her waist and further added to the cowgirl Americana aesthetic.  

Think movie stars of yesteryear and exude old-world glamour while basking in the sunshine of the Cote D’Azur or Amalfi Coast. Channel the elegance of the Riviera by opting for a more classic, retro-feel one piece that features two colours. Instagram darlings Leonie Hanne and Pernille Teisbaek both have both been spotted in typography one-piece bathing suits that featured notes of black and white. Leonie's Gucci swimsuit featured a white base emblazoned with Gucci's signature in black while Perinelle's featured a vertical black and white colour block, with Chanel's interlocking C's. Both of them kept their accessories classic, Pernille opting for an elegant string of pearls and Leonie, for Gucci's 1967 Jackie bag.  

For a spot of colour, take cues from fashion influencer Julie Sariñana, her white swimsuit featured emerald green vertical stripes that oozed warm summer days along the charming European coast. She teamed the look with white-rimmed cat-eye sunglasses for added retro-glam, while an oversized white shirt lent a casual softness for breezy vacation vibes. 

It's time to show some skin in the sultry summer heat and what better way to do it than with a fuss-free, cut-out dress. Utterly glamorous in its minimalism, the cut-out dress instantly creates an exciting, statement look that works perfectly for both day and night. 

Danish influencer Pernille Teisbaek and Dutch influencer Negin Mirsalehi have both been spotted wearing shorter cut-out dresses that are perfect for the warm weather season. Mirsaleh's black, one-shoulder dress featured a cut out at the waist, accentuating the curves of her figure, she accessorised the look with gold-tone bracelets, Dior's Lady Dior bag in its mini variation and of course, voluptuous beachy waves cascading over her shoulders.

Teisbaek proved that minimalism doesn't have to be black, white and neutral only. Her always-on-point, signature Scandi-chic aesthetic is seen all dressed up for the upcoming season with a sexy, strappy cut-out mini dress in a deliciously summery teal. The deeper teal tone wasn't too vivid but evoked a sense of the green-blue notes of the ocean. Like Mirsalehi, Teisbaek also paired her cut-out mini with simple gold accessories for a perfect touch of warmth. Gold looks amazing when you're out in the sunshine, lending an added glow to any look. 

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and English singer-songwriter Dua Lipa opted for full-length cut-out dresses perfect for those summer evenings. Lipa's edgy, fitted black, maxi cut-out dress featured sensual cut-outs down the front and she let the dress speak for itself, teaming it with black kitten heels and a sparkly silver mini bag for a touch of glitz. For a more au naturel glam look, take cues from Huntington-Whiteley, who opted for a creamy white, body-hugging cut-out dress that oozed luxe, and resort wear. Perfect for those Riviera getaways or basking in the sunshine while holidaying Capri.
