The Spy Who Loved Me: Max Mara Spring/Summer 2020
For Max Mara's Spring/Summer 2020 presentation, creative director Ian Griffiths draws inspiration from female spies in fictional works like Killing Eve, Modesty Blaise, and A Quiet Life. Classy and confident, the feminist answer to James Bond has a killer wardrobe that includes military-inspired suits with Bermuda shorts, trench coats, long skirts, and fluid dresses that skim the body.
Pockets in all sizes show up everywhere in the collection, for utility as well as style. Knee-high stockings and boots that show off just a hint of leg are demure yet daring, while wide-brimmed caps and oversized sunglasses offer the perfect disguise for going incognito. The collection is awash in a range of colours from muted grey, black, and earth tones to pastel shades of pink, green, yellow, purple, and blue. Mission accomplished, Max Mara.
