If you’re looking for a new podcast to start, whether for your daily commute to work or a light story before bed, why not check out Shoemaker of Dreams: The Autobiography of Salvatore Ferragamo' for some easy listening?  The new podcast series chronicles legendary shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo’s life and is voiced by a star studded roster of voices, from Jessica Alba, Suzy Menkes, Sandy Powell, and more.

Narrated over a series of episodes - and strewn with some riveting escapades and amusing anecdotes to boot, each episode is read out by a different friend of the Italian luxury house, starting with Irish writer, academic and activist Sinead Burke, and ending with its 22nd episode with Hollywood actress and businesswoman Jessica Alba.

Before founding his eponymous shoe label, Ferragamo was an apprentice shoemaker and designer to the stars in Hollywood. His journey from Italy to the city of stars and back again is narrated here in this podcast, and is based on Ferragamo’s own 1957 memoir of the same name.

The launch of this podcast comes just before the release of the feature film Salvatore - The Shoemaker of Dreams, directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name), which premiered earlier last week at the Venice Film Festival. A love letter to the iconic shoemaker and a tribute to his designs, the film is a blend of personal biography with fashion criticism as he explores Ferragamo's designs. It also features interviews and appearances by director Martin Scorsese and Ferragamo's late wife Wanda Miletti, and his children and grandchildren.

Earlier this year, the Italian house also launched a social media trivia game to share important moments in Salvatore Ferragamo's life and history.
