The Longchamp x André Collaboration Presents a Lively Twist on a Classic Accessory
Parisian Graffiti artist André Saraiva finds his latest canvas in Longchamp's Le Pliage® bag, breathing new life into the maison's iconic design through his fun, quirky signature.
The most recent artist to turn Longchamp’s iconic foldable bag into a canvas for creativity; Swedish-French artist, André Saraiva, transforms four formats of the Le Pliage® - all in recycled nylon, into three, bold, graphic and delightfully cheeky variations of his iconic Mr. A character and one of his companions, Mrs. A.
Bursting with an edgy, youthful vibrance, these playful designs are typical of Saravina's artwork, refashioning the well-known, classically minimalistic bag into a fun, tongue and cheek accessory that winks at contemporary street style.
Cotton candy hues of bubblegum pink and sky blue make an eye-catching statement as the sugary sweet tones are juxtaposed with the edgy, graphic black strokes that make up the vivaciously animated characters. The range is completed with a vibrant take on Longchamp’s signature green as well as an easy to match, classic black that features the jaunty, Mr. A motif in white, creating a cool, old school, chalkboard-esque vibe.
A highlight of the collaboration features 200, limited edition, small Le Pliage® bags in recycled polyester canvas. Printed in pink and blue with Mr. A motifs, each individually numbered bag will be customised by Saraiva to create unique, original pieces of one of a kind artwork that one can carry with them every day.
Punctuated by a more contemporary white, the duo-tone colour scheme lends a slightly retro feel to this range, reminiscent of the graphics of the '60s and '70s where graffiti first emerged. The clever combination results in an accessory that presents an interesting mix of retro-contemporary, both themes come together to produce statement-making, wearable street-art bags that will lend a deliciously fun burst of colour and an artistic, street-chic twist to any outfit.
