Digital Cover Story: Thai Star, Earnearn Fatima is Earning her Stripes
With elegance beyond her years, this young actress is ready to make waves in all she does.
Bubbly and energetic, Fatima Dechawaleekul, better known as Earnearn, filled the set with smiles and laughter as soon as she arrived but once the camera started rolling, she transformed. The 20-year-old singer, actress and L’OFFICIEL SINGAPORE’s March 2025 digital cover star broke into the scene after competing in Thailand’s The Star Idol singing competition and reality show. After releasing her single, ‘Lucky Color’, Earnearn went on to pursue her love for acting — auditioning and landing main roles in dramas like My Sassy Princess: Cinderella in 2022 and Across the Sky in 2023. Hungry for more and fueled by her acting ambitions, Earnearn takes her acting skills to the big screen with her first film, Flat Girls which premiered recently in February this year.
The film tells the story of Jane and Ann who became the best of friends despite their vastly different socioeconomic backgrounds and their coming of age story as their friendship is tested with the complexities of growing up. Reflecting on the theme of maturity, Earnearn blooms as she dons Celine’s Summer 2025 pieces, exuding elegance and a quiet sophistication that contrasts beautifully with her bright and youthful personality. During our cover shoot, we sat down with Earnearn to talk about her experience in Flat Girls, personal goals and lessons she has learnt along the way. Read on for our conversation with the rising star!
Hi Earnearn! How are you? How did the shoot go today?
Hi! I’m doing great! Today was really busy, as we had to execute a lot of changes—around 8 looks in total. The team was very professional, working quickly and collaborating seamlessly. It was an exciting experience for me, especially since this time, Celine created a completely new look for me with both makeup and hair. Also, the clothing and accessories completely surprised me with an unexpected look, and I absolutely love them! I can’t choose just one—they’re all amazing!
Your new movie Flat Girls just released earlier in February. What was the most enjoyable part about working on that project?
This project helped me grow a lot, especially in terms of maturity, as I played the role of P’ Ann. While her age is similar to mine, she has more inner strength and a stronger heart. What I enjoyed most was definitely learning to embrace adulthood. It feels like a coming-of-age experience for me as well. Aside from that, it’s the cast and crew that really stood out to me. I loved the environment and how close we all were. Everyone supported each other, and it created such a comfortable and heartwarming atmosphere.
"What I ENJOYED MOST was definitely learning to EMBRACE ADULTHOOD."
The movie is about friendship between two girls, and how that bond is tested one day. Have you ever experienced something similar in your real life?
Since the movie is about coming of age, Nong Jane embodies this concept. She’s still figuring out what she likes or dislikes, and even her feelings about gender. P’Ann, on the other hand, plays the role of someone who challenges that bond and introduces the story of love to Nong Jane. And that’s how the challenges unfold. I would say I have a similar situation in real life, though not exactly the same. She’s my real sister, and we’re incredibly close. She’s my safe zone, and she knows everything about me. However, we’ve never viewed each other in a “love” way.
The movie is also a coming-of-age story. What’s the best and worst thing about growing up? Do you want to turn back time or are you eager to grow older?
I would say that growing up is inevitable. Every human has to mature in their own way, but the best part of being a child is that we don’t have to overthink things. There are always parents there to lift us up when we fall, and as children, we easily accept forgiveness, no matter how wrong we were. But for me, I’m more grounded in reality. Anyway that I have to grow, I would just take every step that’s worth it and learn as much as I can. For now, I’m just focusing on my dream that I would like to achieve in future.
Besides Flat Girls, what else are you busy with in 2025?
Actually, I’m focusing on becoming a better actor. I’ve been auditioning for various types of movies to improve myself along the way. Beyond my work, a major goal for me is to finish my university studies, as I’m set to graduate this October. I still have a lot of work left on my thesis, though.
And what do you like to do in your downtime?
I’ve never really had free time. Even on my days off, I always find activities to do, and creating content is also essential for our work.
Complete the following sentence: I am happiest when…
I’m happiest when I get to eat something delicious.
Tell us about your daily style. What are some of your favourite items in your wardrobe?
Off the top of my head, I would say it’s trousers and shirts with Celine's Camille 16 Soft Bag to complete my daily looks.
Finally, what is one goal you’re working on right now, and how do you plan on achieving it?
It’s a big, unpredictable goal for me, but I’m determined to try my best to achieve it one day. I dream of having international fan meetings, performing at concerts with my lovely fans around, and simply enjoying the process of working and embracing new opportunities every day.
